AI Literacies are plural and context-dependent

Presumably prompted by this thread on the Open Education Global forum, Stephen Downes in OLDaily linked to Angela Gunder’s Dimensions of AI Literacies. The latter is a remix of my Essential Elements of Digital Literacies.

With Angela’s approval, WAO has used some of the icons from her site to create a graphic for an updated version of ailiteracy.fyi

It’s still a placeholder site, but this time using the Solo website builder, a Mozilla Innovation Project. Talking of Mozilla, I can imagine them being the kind of organisation to fund work around AI Literacies, much as when I was Web Literacy Lead, I convened a community to help define a Web Literacy Map.

If this is the kind of thing you’d like to work on in 2025, get in touch! We’ve got the capacity, expertise, and interest to work on this. Hopefully we’ll be able to use the Friends of the Earth article around AI Sustainability Principles being published in January to stir up some interest.
