Intermission
This is a short note to say that I'm preparing for my Act 2.
After archiving my writing over the past 20 years, I'm going to spend some time behind the scenes figuring out what to do next.
Some of that time will involve working on, and shipping my zine: Field Notes on Productive Friction (Q3 2026). This will be limited to 50 copies, and there won't be a digital version.
It would be easy, and lazy, to categorise this as some kind of midlife crisis. Let me reassure you that I'm physically, mentally, and emotionally fine. But I've had a feeling gnawing away at me for seven years at this point.
I'm fond of quoting Clay Shirky as saying:
[C]urrent optimization is long-term anachronism.
So consider this a self-intervention in my ongoing attempt to avoid becoming an anachronism.
I'll see you on the other side – whatever, wherever, and whenever that may be.
