Weeknote 15/2026
“In the age of information overload, the ultimate luxury is meaning and context.”
– Louis Rossetto
I've been off work this week. Apart from going to the gym and for walks, I visited Holy Island and Northumberland Zoo with the family, watched my daughter Grace play against Sunderland Academy, had a blood test (all fine), and then took Grace, who picked up an injury in the previous match to watch her team play Everton Academy.
I updated my Dynamic Skillset website (including the /tools section), and I'm particularly happy with Commonplace, which you can try here. It's a “federated collection manager for the open social web” which shows I haven't yet given up on the MoodleNet dream...
Other than that, I finished reding White Out by Ragnar Jónasson and started reading The Chrysalids by John Wyndham. I've done various bit of DIY around the house, scarified our front and back lawns, washed the cars, and generally tried to make myself useful.
Over at Thought Shrapnel, I published a bunch of things.
Next week, Laura will be holiday tag-teaming me, so I'll be reviewing with what she's done on WAO projects, catching up with Nate about the Scottish digital badges project and talking with John about finance related to the upcoming closure of the co-op.
Once last shout-out for the pilot TechFreedom cohort as the first workshop is in about 10 days' time. It's going to be great, so sign up and/or share if you can!
