ChronoTasker: turning my to-do list into a clockface

A screenshot of part of the ChronoTasker app

I don't know about you, but I find task apps a bit rubbish. They usually end up as just laundry lists of things to check off, unrelated to the shape of your actual day.

Before I switched to Proton, I was using tasks in Google Calendar which at least put my to-do's next to my calendar events. But I still wanted something better.

A few days ago I saw someone on Reddit who had placed their tasks around a clockface. I thought that was a great idea, but their approach wasn't exactly how I would have done it. So I decided to make my own version that matched the way I think about time.

I built and iterated ChronoTasker with help from my little robot friend, Claude Opus 4.6. Through lots of back‑and‑forth I've ended up with two modes: a simple view entirely focused on adding tasks, and a more advanced view where you can schedule recurring tasks, connect your calendar, and maintain backlog

Right now this is very much in the realm of scratching my own itch, but I'm curious as to whether it might useful for anyone else. Would you use something like ChronoTasker as a service – ether standalone or alongside your existing calendar and task setup?
